name: marissa lorainne castor
age: nineteen
gender: female
appearance: marissa stands at a height fairly average for a female at 5'5". she has a tanned complexion with dark brown eyes and skin. her hair is quite long, ending at her mid-back, and is slightly wavy in texture. her clothing style does vary, although she often does try to dress nicely out of her own enjoyment.
misc information:
• witch
• marketing major
• her parents own a magical store in a supernatural city
• she stocks on various materials from the human city and ships them over to the supernatural one for her parents to sell
• has a bird familiar (blackbird) named sage
• he's not the brightest bird so he kind of hovers around, which is not good considering she wants to appear human
[ this is going to be a little short but i promise you i'll add in more details next post, i'm a little busy right now ^^ ]
Honestly, Marissa was never one who was good with directions. She was sure she had circled around the same location a good three or four times before she actually found the coffee shop, which was honestly a little bit sad considering she had the map app opened up on her phone. It really didn't help that she was completely new to the area. All her life, Marissa lived within the supernatural city with her parents, so it was granted she had no idea what she was doing. Of course, she wasn't able to say the same anymore. She couldn't help but wonder about various things. Was it really the wisest decision to move to a human only city? Well, then again, it wasn't like she didn't already constantly make incredibly questionable decisions.
As she pushed the door to the coffee shop open, a little chime was heard throughout the shop. Inside, Marissa could already see a few people seated. Her dark brown eyes darted around the room. Which one of these people was her new roommate? She glanced down at the phone in her hands and opened up her texts. Quickly, she began to type something into her phone.
Hey! Sorry for being a bit late.
Are you in here already?
I'm the one by the door.
-
Marissa turned her head when she heard the sound of footsteps approaching her, only to see another female who dusted her dress off with the palms of her hand. The girl in front of her also had dark hair and brown eyes, but unlike herself, she had freckles dotting the bridge of her nose. So this must've been Iris, right? It felt nice to finally have a face attached to the name. A small smile soon made way to Marissa's face and she eagerly nodded her head.
"Yep! That would be me," Marissa began in an eager tone. When a hand was extended out towards her, Marissa took hold of the other woman's hand and gently shook it. "It's nice to finally meet you." She paused for a second to glance at the table in front of them. More specifically, it was the one that Iris was previously sitting at. On the table was a lone cup filled with some sort of chocolatey looking liquid. Eventually, Marissa raised a finger to point at the table.
"You were sitting there, right?" she asked, although the brunette was positive that she already knew the answer. "I'm going to quickly go grab a drink and meet you there. Just go ahead and sit down... or something." Her shoulders lifted up into a little shrug before she turned and headed over to the counter at the center of the coffee shop. Luckily, the line was small, so it would probably only take a few minutes of waiting before Marissa would be able to order some random drink.
-
It wasn't too long after that Marissa sat down at the table in front of Iris. In her hands was a transparent cup filled with some sort of sugary looking drink. To be honest, Marissa wasn't entirely sure what she bought herself. She liked being spontaneous and trying new things, and the drink in front of her definitely happened to be something new to Marissa. The first thing she did was tilt the straw towards herself and take a little sip. It was like a weird mixture of sweet and salty, but it wasn't necessarily bad. It probably would've been better without the saltiness, but Marissa wasn't going to complain.
"So, about the apartments," she began after flicking her gaze up to look at Iris. "You said it's across the street from here, right?" she asked with a little smile on her face. Her gaze moved away from Iris to quickly glance out the window. She had seen pictures of the apartment while texting Iris days before, but actually seeing it in person was a totally different thing. "Is it possible to see it from here? We're going to go see it later, right? I'm sorry for the barrage of questions, I'm just kind of excited," she said with a little grin.
She glanced away when she heard tapping at the window, only to see a familiar black bird pecking its beak against it. Marissa of course knew it was her own familiar, but pretended otherwise. "Oh wow, a bird. Cute."
-
When turned towards the window and raised a finger to point it at one of the tall apartment buildings, Marissa's followed along the structure she was gesturing to. It was a tall brick building with a balcony, which looked looked similar to a few buildings around it. It was unsurprisingly similar to how it looked in the pictures Marissa saw, except better because it had the realness of being in person. "Seventh floor?" she repeated while looking up at the building. "Pretty high up! That makes me excited to see what view we have," Marissa said eagerly. Hopefully it was a pretty landscape of the city and not something depressing like a trash dump.
When the topic of pets was brought up, Marissa flicked her gaze back to the bird by the window. Had this person figured out what she was already? Hopefully not. This was supposed to be a human only city, so being discovered ran its risks. All she did was quietly blink for a moment. Just play it cool. Don't overthink it. Marissa shook her head to the side before a smile reappeared onto her face.
"Nope, no pets! It would be nice to have a dog or something at some point though. Puppies are always cute. What about you though? Do you have any pets? Are they even allowed in our apartments? I kind of forgot. I mean, it wouldn't matter much anyway. One of my friends smuggled her cat into a no-pet apartment."
-
"A couple of dogs? That's cute!" Marissa said. Yeah. They're cute until they keep you up with all their barking. Never once in her life had she ever had a dog. She of course had her familiar, a blackbird, and at home her parents had a cat familiar. Marissa happened to like both, although there was something about puppies that made her feel a little bit more fond of them. "But it's cool that you don't have any pets either. Guess it's just us then, hm?"
When the key was handed over to her, Marissa gently took it from Iris's hands. She held it between her thumb and index finger and peered down at the key. Attached to the key was a little slip of paper that had the numbers '7042' written onto it. Her thumb trailed along the edge of the key, like she was inspecting it for a few seconds, before she glanced back up. A little smile was on Marissa's face. "Thanks! I'll try not to lose it or anything," she said and chuckled.
Suddenly, Marissa stood up from her seat, grabbing her drink off of the table. She still had almost all of the tea to go through, but she was a little bit too excited to wait. "How about we go now? You're already done with that drink of yours anyway, I can just carry mine."
-
Marissa shook her head like it was nothing. "That's okay. It's not like it won't be messy when I move my stuff in," Iris said and shrugged. It wasn't like she was some sort of neat freak anyway, and she didn't think Iris was the type to purposely leave it messy forever. At least, that's what Marissa wanted to hope. She did previously read some bad roommate stories here and there while killing time on Reddit, but there was only a small chance of those things coming true, right? Plus, Iris seemed like a good person through the bit of time she spent talking to her.
With the cup of cold tea grasped tightly in her hand, Marissa began to follow Iris over to the door. She slipped the apartment key into her back pocket on the way there. "Oh, yeah, I used to live in the city," Marissa began. "Not in this one, but a different one. My parents run a shop so I helped out there and stuff. I decided to move away for college though, you know?" Marissa explained. She hadn't exactly made anything up about her story, nor was she lying. She just happened to leave the whole supernatural side out, that's all.
She walked along the sidewalk with her gaze kept up towards what was now their apartment. "What about you though? Surely you have a more interesting life."
-
"That's still a lot more eventful than what I've probably been through," Marissa said and chuckled. "I never really moved around much as a kid because of the shop. It would be hard to relocate stuff and there wouldn't really be a point in doing that, anyway." Still, even if she had never moved anywhere from her hometown until now, Marissa did venture a lot in her time in the supernatural city. She was usually the one who did little errands for her father and his clients, so she had lots of unusual stories just from those experiences. Sadly, they weren't anything that Marissa could speak of to a human.
Upon entering the little apartment, Marissa tilted her head to take a good look of her surroundings. On the floor were potted plants that were a healthy green in color. The building itself was old, although it didn't really look like it. She looked back over at Iris as she spoke and nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, totally!" she said enthusiastically. "So far it's looking pretty good though. My standards aren't that high or anything, so don't worry about what I'll think."
They stepped into the elevator and Marissa leaned over to click on the button with a seven on it. She luckily remembered which floor it was on from their conversation in the coffee shop. When a little ding was heard, the doors slid open. Marissa stepped out and only stopped when she came across the door with '7042' labeled onto it. "I'll go ahead and do the honors!"
Marissa reached back into her pocket. She pulled out the key and slid it into the hole. With a quick turn, the door unlocked, and Marissa eagerly pushed it open.
-
[ totally sorry about the wait! i'm out of the country right now so i'll probably vanish here and there. just wanted to warn you c: ]
Once the door was opened, the first thing Marissa spotted were all the boxes set down on the floor. Around the room were little bits of furniture, like a couch, a table, or a few chairs here and there, though it still looked a little bit empty. Marissa would have to find a way to fix that if Iris didn't already have any plans to do so. Her eyes soon stopped when they landed on the window and her mind went back to what she mentioned earlier - the view. Marissa lifted her foot up to step over a small box and headed over to the window. Curiously, she peered out of it and first saw the coffee shop they were at just a few minutes ago. She could also see several other tall buildings and little blobs of people walking down the street. A little smile made way to her face.
The brunette soon turned away from the window to look at the other girl. "It's great! I really like it. Once we get all the furniture in, I think it'll look even better," Marissa said and slightly nodded her head. She quickly stepped forward and began exploring more of the apartment. She looked into the kitchen, the bathroom, and stopped when she arrived at a room that was empty.
"You already picked a room, right?" Marissa asked and glanced back at her. "Will this be mine?"
-
ah, sorry for not saying anything until now! you can go ahead and open my spot. i've been out of the country so it's likely that my posts will be very inconsistent, so i won't be joining. sorry for not saying anything sooner ^^;
-
After a few seconds, Marissa turned her head away from the empty room to look back at Iris. "Oh, don't worry about that. I have some furniture in my car right now. The rest is stuff that I'm probably going to have to buy at some point myself," Marissa said and shrugged. "Either way, this place won't look as empty once I get everything in. Hopefully."
Marissa turned around and walked back down the hallway, taking a quick glance into Iris's room. It only lasted a second, however, and she didn't enter any further. She wasn't sure if Iris would be comfortable with her looking around there yet, and didn't really want to get on her roommate's bad side quite yet. Would she be the type to do that though? Marissa didn't really know for sure, but she'd go the safer route and respect her privacy.
"Oh! I just remembered that I kind of left my car with everything in it by the coffee shop. You don't mind if I quickly go get it, right?"

It was already late in the night - technically morning by now, actually - when Hana first twisted the doorknob to her little apartment open and stumbled inside. The room was almost completely dark, save for the faint light coming through her window from the streets outside. Still, Hana made no attempt to make the room any more illuminated than it already was. She completely ignored the set of light switches right beside the front door and took a turn into the hallway. Hana stopped when she was in front of the door at the very end of the hallway and pushed it open, quickly flicking the lights on as she did so.
The first thing Hana noticed was a cream colored ball of fur curled up on the top of her bed, already fast asleep. The brunette let out a little sigh at the sight of this and shook her head before heading over to the wall, where a white dresser was located. She opened it up and pulled out practically the first thing she spotted, which was a pair of black shorts and a random shirt. Figuring that she was a little bit too tired to shower, Hana changed out of her current clothes and into the ones she just pulled out. Generally she wasn't a messy person, but she decided to leave the old clothing on the floor for the night. She could clean in the morning, anyway. Right now, she was really feeling a bit too lightheaded and tired to do anything remotely productive.
Hana walked over to the bed and laid on the side that her little cat wasn't occupying. She pulled out her phone and quickly began scrolling through it. No matter how tired she was, it was like a nightly routine to check it. Hana first looked through her messages and other various forms of social media before finally opening up her emails. She wasn't really one who enjoyed checking them often, as most of the time, they were either assignments or spam. She seemed to be wrong this time, however, when she caught sight of a particular email that stood out from the rest, as the subject was written in English: "Pen pal assignment."
At first, all Hana did was blink with a blank expression on her face before she finally remembered. Oh, right! If she recalled correctly, this was all a part of something from her business class. Hana remembered her professor mentioning it earlier, although she honestly hadn't been paying the most attention. She was a little bit distracted thinking about other events at the time, and right now, she wasn't in the best state of mind, to say the least. Hana opened up the email and quickly skimmed through it before beginning to type something up herself.
Alexandra Krieger,
Hi! I'm Hana. I'm also drunk. It was my friend's birthday and I drank too much of somethign. I don't know what its called in English. Sorry for any typos.
Getting to know each other would be great! Germany is nice. I've never been there but I like the food. I'm twenty three and a computer science major. I have two older broters. I love dogs! Do you have any picures of Max I could see? I would like to have a dog at some point, butright now I don't think I'd have space for one. So, instead I have a cat. Her name is Momo. She is not a dog. Sharks aren't the strangest thing to like! I like snakes and some people find taht odd. And lots of birds. Sharks taste kinda weird though. Have you tried eating anything considered abnormal where you're from?
I'm not that interesting of a person, but Ill go ahead and tell you more about me. I like to cook but I am shot at baking. I still try thpugh. I like traveling and I want to try seeing the world. Have you ever been outside of Germany?
Please don't apologize for your English though, it's very good! It's not my mother tongue either so don't worrt. Plus, since I'm still drunk, you'll probably at least seem a little more literate than me. Do you know any other languages?
Sorry if I'm ending this abruptly, but I'm about to pass out. It's one in the mornig here and I need to take my contacts out. Ill talk to you latwr!
From, Hana.
Of course, she didn't even bother proofreading before hitting the "send" button.

It wasn't technically incorrect to say that Hana woke up in the morning. More specifically, three hours later at four. She slowly opened up her brown eyes, squinting slightly as she did so, only to see darkness around her. Her eyelids felt heavy and she wanted to go right back to sleep, but at the same time, she couldn't. She could feel a numbing, throbbing pain going around her forehead. Hana lifted up her head to glance at the clock on the wall and immediately felt a little bit lightheaded. If it was four here, then that probably meant it was nine or ten in Germany, right? Why was she even thinking about that right now when she felt like the epitome of death? She sighed and laid her head back down on the pillow, although in just a few minutes, she made the very questionable decision to pick up her phone.
Surely enough, Alexandra had responded. She could tell from the notification that popped up on the screen, which Hana probably stared at for a straight minute before eventually releasing a little sigh. She used her fingerprint to unlock her phone and opened up her latest email. She couldn't tell if it was because she was drunk, exhausted, or farsighted, but all the text was blurry. It was almost like the English typed was now a completely foreign language to her. Hana dropped her phone on the bed for a second and lifted herself up once again. She once again felt a terrible dizziness, but practically ignored it as she leaned towards her little stand next to the bed. Her hands roamed all over it through the darkness until she was able to feel her glasses, which she picked up and slipped onto the bridge her nose. Then, Hana rested her head back down and held her phone back up. Well. It was still blurry.
Although it took her quite a couple of seconds to actually read the first few words, a smile soon made way to Hana's face. Though, it quickly vanished when she felt the pain returning to her head. She read through the rest of the email and stopped when she saw the attachment name. A smile returned to Hana's face and she tapped on it, which loaded the picture in a quick second.
It was like her brain immediately short-circuited. Hana definitely wasn't expecting to see what she was looking at right now. Well, of course she knew about the dog, who was undeniably very adorable, but it was the person with her arms wrapped around the golden retriever that made Hana fully stop. That was Alexandra?! She was incredibly attractive, almost intimidatingly so. Hana already felt personally attacked by her one true weakness: pretty girls. She wasn't sure who to be jealous of - the dog or Alexandra. Hana stared at the picture for another couple of seconds before scrolling back up and typing.
Alexandra,
I am very sorry if I got you in trouble! I do indeed have a very big headache and I think I'm stll a little drunk. And my vision is blhrry too. It took me fifteen minutes just to read your email. Eberything hurts. I feel like Im going to die, but its okay I guess.
Thank you for swnding the picture of Max! He's a very cute dog. I love golden retrievers very much. The fur is nice and I like whwn they do that scrunchy thing with their nose. I wish I could pet him. He looks soft. All dog ears are really soft. You're also very pretty thoufh! It might evqn be a bit of an understatement for me to say just that.
I have several picture of Momo! After all, she is my child. I'll attach it at the bottom. You have a much more interesting reason to like snakes. I like then because they stuck their tongue out. And they're just cool. The baby ones are cute.
Smoked eel tastes good, but it is expensuve! Its not very weird to be eating that here thouvh. Japanese people eat a lot of weird things though, honestly. Another thing that could be deadly to eat is fugu! I would tell you to try it, but you're vegetarian, of cpurse.
I've never been to Poland, but I heard it's pretty! I've been to Korea, England, and America before, but nowhere else. I aldo know Korean aside from Japanese and English.
Oh, here's Momo! The first is when she was still a kitten, the second is how she looks now. Ignore my fsce in the first picture though, I don't look that great.
From, Hana.
20172212_104647.jpg
20180905_108935.jpg
In the first picture was Hana, although only half of her face could really be seen despite her looking into the camera. A cream colored kitten, probably only a few months old, was sprawled on top of Hana's head. The kitten's hind legs were next to each side of Hana's face, on her shoulders. One of the cream colored cat's paws was over Hana's eyes while the final paw was close to Hana's ear. The kitten's green eyes were wide and her ears were fully perked up in a curious way. Hana's hair was a little disheveled from the cat and her eye that wasn't covered by a paw was open. A wide smile was on her face.
The second picture was a more normal one, just containing Momo. It was one taken only a few months ago, so she looked a lot bigger compared to the first picture.
Hana waited a moment after looking through the contents of her newest message. She then lowered her thumb and clicked on the "send" button. Then, she dropped her phone back down, sighing once more before closing her eyes.
-
Marissa nodded her head with a little smile on her face. "Alright then! I'll be back in a couple of minutes." Without saying anything else, she turned against her heels and headed out the door. As she did so, she took her key out of her pocket and locked the apartment door. She headed over to the elevator and when the doors opened up, she clicked on the button that led to the ground floor. It wasn't long before the elevator reopened and she walked out onto the streets.
It only took her about ten minutes to walk to the coffee shop, get her car, and drive it back to the apartment. Marissa stepped out and opened up the trunk of her car. Inside were a few boxes, which she picked up. Currently she was holding a stack of only two, since they were a lot heavier than Marissa actually thought they'd be. If only she was able to use magic in this place. That would make moving her stuff so much easier! She sighed and walked back over to the apartment, kicking the door open before walking back to the elevator.
By the time she arrived back to the door leading into their room, Marissa was close to just dropping the boxes on the floor. She didn't want to carry them anymore. It was getting pretty exhausting at this point. She quickly glanced around to make sure nobody was nearby before she placed a hand on the doorknob. Thanks to her magic, the door successfully unlocked and opened without the use of a key. A loud thud was heard as she dropped the two boxes on the floor.
"Oh, you're already back to moving things around?" Marissa asked when she noticed there were less boxes on the floor than before. She used her foot to push her own boxes against the door, propping it open. That would make it easier for when she had to carry the rest of her boxes up. "If it's okay with you, I'm going to leave the door open while I get everything else." She glanced down for a quick second at the boxes and noticed the neck of a book sticking out. Noticing it was one of her grimoires, Marissa hastily pushed it deeper into the box. Hopefully Iris wouldn't notice.

[ you're all good! i have a lot of muse too so type as much as you want c: ]
No matter how long Hana laid against her bed with her eyes closed, the possibility of falling asleep seemed very unlikely at this point. Her head was hurting way too much, and to be honest, she was feeling a little bit distracted by something. Or rather, someone. She didn't know why she was so eager to get a response back from Alexandra when only ten minutes or so had passed. She wasn't entirely sure why, but she enjoyed talking to the German. She was nice and good at continuing conversation. Things didn't really feel as awkward as Hana would've expected it to be, but maybe that was also partially because of her intoxicated state earlier. She was always a little more talkative than usual in those situations. Regardless, Hana decided that she liked this Alexandra girl so far, and hopefully it would stay that way.
Another throbbing pain went through her head and Hana let out a little exaggerated grumble at the feeling. She opened up her eyes, again seeing the familiar darkness of the night. Well, actually, it was starting to get a little bit brighter already, as she could now faintly see the ceiling above. Was the sun already beginning to rise? Normally she wasn't one who enjoyed getting up from her bed at a time like this, but she really needed something to stop the pains. It didn't hurt that bad, but it was annoying. It wasn't anything she was not used to anyway, which honestly wasn't probably a good thing in a medical sense. Hell, it wasn't like that would stop Hana from drinking. Was it even something she had to worry about? It wasn't like she was an alcoholic!
She finally slid out from beneath the sheets of her bed, grabbing her phone with one of her hands as she did so. With her free hand, she used her fingertips to push her glasses up forward. Already, she was feeling way worse standing up than she had been sitting down. Her head felt heavy and she was dizzy. It kind of felt like she would fall over at any moment, and not only that, but Hana was suddenly feeling kind of dehydrated. She took a few steps towards the door, luckily managing not to trip over the clothes she left on the floor earlier in the night. She walked down the little hallway and into her kitchen, flicking the lights on with her finger.
Hana flinched at the sight of Momo sitting down on top of the marble island, staring directly at her. She hadn't even noticed the cat left the bed during the night. How was a flat counter more comfortable than a bed? Hana shook her head slightly before heading over to the wall nearby her sink. Above it were two rows of wooden planks attached to the wall. On them were various containers, most filled with different spices, potted plants, and other random decorations. In between the planks was a black rod with hooks, where a couple of white mugs were hanging. Hana took one that was on the very edge and placed it down on the counter along with her phone.
The next thing she did was take a couple of steps to the side, over to where the stove was. On the wall beside it were different washed pots and pans hanging on hooks. She took one of the pots and filled it with a bit of water in the sink. Then, she placed it on the stove and turned the heat up. It was a few seconds after that she heard her phone vibrate against the counter. Almost instantly, Hana rushes to her phone and smiled at the notification displayed.
Email from Alexandra Krieger: Pen Pal Assignment. Click to view full message.
Hana eagerly tapped on the notification. After unlocking her phone, the email was displayed on the screen. She read through the first two sentences before stopping, a faint blush on her cheeks. The pretty girl was calling her pretty? Was she lying? It wasn't that Hana considered herself unattractive or anything, but she hadn't even sent a good picture of herself! Maybe Alexandra liked seeing people being mauled by tiny cats? Hana shook her head to clear her thoughts away. She readjusted her glasses with her index finger and continued reading through the email before starting to type.
Alexandra,
Starstruck? If you saw how I look right now, then you definitely wouldn't be saying the same thing. But thank you very much! I'm glaf you like Momo.
I would like to visit Poland at some point! Theb again, traveling anywhere would be nice. I've only been to the west side of America, but its pretty. The people there are veru interesting and diverse, especially with the fashion. England was also a good place. It rained a lot while I was there though. I'm going to be honest and sau that I enjoyed listening to everyone there a little too much. They have beautiful accents. And Korea? I went to the countryside and it was very beautoful! There were a lot of green areas like rice fields and hills. I have a couple of pictures if you'd like to see at some time.
Wow! It's a lot earlier there! For me, the sun is rising. It's currently 5:56 am where I am. But dont worru! Im always awake at ungodly hours. I wish I could see my brothers again, but they're always busy with work. I have a job too, of course, but I work from home so it's easy. Good luck with the snoring and your brother! I'll admit that I've played Fornite a few times before. It's a lot easier once you get the hang of everything. Or if you have friends (who are actually good) and willing to play with uou. I wish I could have a balcony in my apartment, but living spaces in Japan are usually very compact. Do you have a nice view?
Thank you for your concern. I've actually already started boiling some water. I plan on making some green tea, it's one of my favourites. I'll have to look for some ibuprofen thoigh. I think I'm already feeling a bit better. :)
From, Hana.
Hana sent the email before putting her phone down. She went to the stove and turned off the heat before she could somehow manage to set the water on fire.

[ i have no idea how this actually looks on pc so if it's shit... oops, i'll fix it later. ]
By now, Hana was already sitting by the island at the center of the kitchen with the cup of tea situated on the table right in front of her. Visible steam rose into the air above the hot drink, and Hana simply watched it accumulate in the air. Currently, she wasn't in the mood to burn her tongue, so she patiently waited for the drink to cool down a little. It probably would've looked a bit strange for someone to stare at a cup of green tea with such a dead expression, but there was nothing else Hana could really do. There was no point in checking her texts or social media because nobody sane was awake at this time of day. Staring at a screen for too long would probably just greaten her already massive headache, anyway. At least she wasn't the only one who seemed uncomfortably interested in the cup, as her cream colored cat was also staring at the green tea. Momo sat with her front paws extended and her tail around her side. Her head was slightly tilted in a curious manner.
Hana reached a hand out and gently scratched the back of Momo's ears. She did this for a few seconds before moving her hand away. She placed her palms against the counter, nearby the cup of tea, although she didn't grab it. Instead, Hana dropped her head down against her arms and closed her eyes. She wasn't sure how much time actually passed, but she was nearly about to fall asleep when she felt her phone vibrating underneath her. Hana laid motionless for nearly a minute until she felt a paw batting at her head. What did Momo have against her now? She muttered something to herself before lifting her head up to stare at the cat. All Momo did was innocently stare at her before making a soft purring noise. Hana rolled her brown eyes before pulling the cup of green tea closer with her index finger and thumb. She checked the notification on her phone and was unsurprised to find another email from Alexandra.
Quickly, Hana skimmed through the contents of it. She agreed that messy could be cute sometimes, but the way she was now? Hungover and tired wasn't really cute. She'd definitely have to make sure to send some pictures to Alexandra though. It was the mention of a video that made one of Hana's eyebrows curiously quirk up. So she was just going to show her, huh? Hana raised the cup of green tea and took a sip before clicking on the attachment. She almost spat out her drink when she saw Alexandra's face again instead of some view from above, like she had been expecting to.
Was this woman trying to kill her? Hana once again was feeling a little attacked, more so because instead of just staring at some picture, Alexandra was actually moving on the screen. Hana could've sworn she felt her heartbeat quicken when she saw Alexandra smiling so brightly on the screen. Or maybe that was a convenient hangover symptom? Who really knew. She wasn't sure what Alexandra meant anymore when she said she'd rather change to a British accent. Hana didn't hear German accents very often, but she was honestly already a bit fond of Alexandra's. Something about it was oddly fitting for the blonde, at least in Hana's opinion. Hana adjusted her thick glasses and replayed the video once more, this time to actually look at the scenery instead of staring at Alexandra the entire time like some creep. Then, she began typing.
Alexandra,
I'm afraid I won't be able to send you anything just yet! I think I put evwrything on my laptop and im stuck on my phone right now. I'll make sure to send you some as soon as I'm able to though. About your accent thoigh, I wouldn't think that. Your voice is very beautiful! I don't ever really hear German accents, so listening to yours was a nice change. That, and your voice is jsut pretty in general.
I work as a software enginssr, I guess? I mostly just program different things for a company. Since all I really need for that is a computer, I have the luxury of being able to stag at home all day. I'll admit though, I sometimes do procrastinate or get bored. It makes life less stressful though! Good luck with getting into med schooh! I heard that it's tough, but I'm sure it'll be worthwhile in the end. Out of curiosity, is drawing vlood all you do?
That's really cool of your brpther! I wish I was more talented with photography. Now this talk about brothers is making me remember about my own. Nowadays, I only really see my eldest brother. My other one... well, it's complicsted to say the least. But it's still okay! I love both of them a lot and I wish I could see them more.
You're definitely correct about thw view being cool! I wish I could have a balcony and see something like that all the time. It's very beautiful. Though, I'm starting to wonder if the breathtaking view I was supposed to see was you or the city. :)
Oh, and it's better. Green tea helps.
From, Hana.
For once, she hadn't immediately sent the message before proofreading. Well, Hana still didn't proofread, but she stared at the final sentence of her second to last paragraph. Was it cheesy to say something like that? Yeah, of course. Was it something she'd end up regretting when she was completely sober? Probably. Was it something she'd actually delete though? Nah. It wasn't that bad anyway, only because she used a normal smiley face instead of a winky one. Without giving another thought, Hana clicked on the button that sent the email.

[ no worries! i'm stuck on mobile almost all the time so i get it. i don't really care how long your posts are, anyway. c:
also i'm really glad you do. tbh i love both of them so much already and i'm excited to see where this goes. especially because i can almost sense a little bit of drama from that fynn dude. but idk i might be really wrong lmao ]Hana took a final sip of her green tea before releasing a gentle sigh. She stood up from the island and used her foot to gently push the bar stool she was previously sitting on back into place, so that it was aligned with the rest of the seats there. She picked up the cup of green tea from the island and turned towards the sink behind her. She placed it down but didn't bother washing it just yet, only because she wasn't really in the mood to. Hana could wash it when she was feeling a little bit better, anyway. Speaking of which, she still had to find the ibuprofen, wherever it happened to be. Before she went to doing that however, Hana reached over to the wall and grabbed another cup, this time a glass one. She walked to her fridge and filled it with the filtered water there before putting the glass on the counter.
Hana then took a few steps to the side and opened up one of the kitchen drawers. Inside were various pill bottles and boxes, all fit together neatly in a way that still left space for some more, if she ever needed to buy more anyway. Hana roamed her fingers over the medicine until she came across a box with the word "Eve A" written along the side in black. She picked it up from the drawer and slid the pills out of the box. Hana used her nail to scratch the foil open and picked up the small white pill. She popped it into her mouth before reaching over for her glass of water. Hana raised the glass to her lips and took a quick sip of it. She swallowed the pill and set the glass back down, which still had most of the water remaining. Hana put the pills back into the box and then put the box away. She closed the drawer and picked up her glass of water, her phone, and then headed out of the kitchen.
When she arrived back into her room, Hana set the glass of water down beside her bed. It was important to stay hydrated while having a hangover, but at the same time, Hana wasn't sure if she'd actually drink much of it. Really, she just put it there to make it seem like she was a better functioning adult. She slipped her glasses off and placed them beside her glass of water before sliding back beneath the warmth of her sheets. Instead of just pulling them up to her chest, she pulled the blankets up so that they were even covering the top of her head. From the outside, Hana probably would've looked like some weird lump. It was perhaps a few minutes of sitting like this when she felt her phone vibrate in her hand. Hana raised it up so it was level with her face and looked at the now familiar notification.
Email from Alexandra Krieger: Pen Pal Assignment. Click to view full message.
Hana tapped on the notification and began reading through the message, a little bit unsuccessfully considering she already stopped at the end of the second sentence. What. She wasn't really expecting a response like that. This girl was actually okay with all her borderline flirting? Normally, Hana would just expect a simple "thank you" in reply or something like that. She continued reading the rest of the message, which for the most part was normal. There were no unexpected pictures or videos of Alexandra to hit her this time. Not that Hana would've really minded, to be honest. She waited a few seconds before beginning to type once more. Hopefully she wouldn't end up butchering her spelling even more with her lack of glasses.
Alexandra,
I wouldn't quite say that. My charm only appears to those deserving of it. :)
Oh, well in tjat case, I'll still send you a few pictures! I jist won't explain them very well. I wpuldnt want to spoil your fun when you do actually end up going to those places. Do you plan on heading out of the countrh anytime soon? If so, where would you want to go? It can be anhwhere you'd like! A place I really want to go to is Greece. The architecture there is verh beautiful. It's exotic compared to the cities I'm used to seeing. And im not being sweet, just honest! Regarsless of whether I'm trying to woo you or not (I'll leave that to your own interpretation), your voice is really nice. Everythinf about you seems way better than I was originally expecting out if this assignment. Honestly, it doesn't even feel like one to me anymore.
Trust me, there are some days when I want to do tjat, but I need the money. What shows have you seen on Netflix? Do you have any favourites? I've seen a couple but I don't think there's one I like tye most. About uour job, complicated can be noce sometimes! I don't know if you like them, but challenges can be fun sometimes.
It's not that cold here. Normally it's around 22°C during the day. Right now it's colder because it's early morning, og course. What about in Germany? My favorite season is alsp fall and winter! It gives me a valid exchse to wear sweaters and cardigans all the time. Spring is also really beautoful here because of all the sakura. When there's daylight, a lot of people have picnics. Here we call it hanami. during the night we hang lanterns on the trees. it's called yozakura and it's super pretty to look at! a picture won't do it justice, you havr to see for yourself!
From, Hana.
She waited a second before sending the message and closing her eyes.

[ huh, well if you'd like to, you can always send me some of your ideas (even if you don't think they're that great) and i can try to help you come up with something! c: ]
Hana woke up to the feeling of a weight pressing down against her chest. Her eyelids slowly opened to see the darkness. The only source of light was coming from the cracks by the edge of the blanket, which Hana soon pushed away with her hand. Momo, who was standing with two paws pressed against Hana's back, let out a spooked meow. The feline spread its paws to take a little leap away before turning once again to stare at her owner. Hana, who was now sitting up, looked back at the cat. She was squinting her dark brown eyes slightly, as her vision wasn't adjusted to the harsh sunlight filtering through the windows quite yet. She leaned her body closer to the cat to gently ruffle the fur on top of Momo's head. The cream colored cat let out another gentle mew before laying down against the bed.
Hana let out a little huff before brushing her fingers through her black hair. She tilted her head up to look at the clock hanging on the wall. Right now it was a little bit past ten in the morning, which meant she had fallen asleep for a good four or five hours. Already, she was feeling a lot better than earlier. Her head was still hurting for sure, but it was more of a dull pain than a throbbing one like earlier. Hana turned towards her bedside table and first picked up the glass of water she set down hours before. She raised it to her lips and took a quick sip before setting the glass back down. Then, Hana reached for her glasses and slipped them onto her face. She dug her hands around she sheets until she was able to find her phone and pulled it out. On her screen were multiple notifications, although there was one that intrigued her the most. With a smile, Hana opened up her emails.
Hana was honestly a little relieved to read that Alexandra was also enjoying the conversation. She wouldn't want to be a burden to respond to. Orange is The New Black? Hana definitely watched that before! It was one of her favorite shows, actually. It was a few sentences after that peaked Hana's curiosity. She raised one of her eyebrows after gazing at the text. "A powerful, dominant and beautiful woman? Sign me up." Was Alexandra into girls? Or was this like some sort of straight girl crush? It wasn't like she'd be able to ask Alexandra. That would be weird and invasive. Why was she even wondering about something like this?! Hana shook her head slightly to end her thoughts before scrolling down further into the email. Her eyes widened slightly when she saw the phone number at the bottom. She was already comfortable enough to give something like that to her?
All Hana could do was stare at the number for a few seconds before she finally lowered her thumb onto it. She hit the "copy" option and then tapped on her messages. There were a few individual people and group chats she had to respond to, but Hana ignored them for now. Instead, she clicked on the option to create a new message. She pasted the number and once again stared at it for a few seconds. She let out a sigh before finally starting to type. For some reason, she was suddenly feeling a little nervous. But why? It wasn't like switching from emails to text was the biggest change.
10:15: Hey, this is Hana! I'm totally sorry for vanishing without warning. I hope it didn't seem like I freaked out when I saw your number and left. I just fell asleep.
10:15: I also want to apologise for all the typos. It probably wasn't the best idea for me to be typing drunk. I'm also sorry if I seem a little bit more boring now. My friends tell me I'm always a little more exciting when I'm intoxicated.
Hana sent the first two messages before pausing for a moment. Would it be annoying to send more? Hana wasn't the type of person to send a single block of text. Nor was she a quadruple texter. She always sent way too many messages. But she was just worrying about meaningless things, right? Hana continued tapping on the screen.
10:16: You said you liked OITNB, right? It's actually one of my favourite shows! I can't wait for the new season.
10:16: Alex is a good character, but she's not my favourite. I like Nicky and Red tbh. Poussey too.
10:17: Frankfurt sounds like a beautiful place to live.
10:18: Everyone should come to Japan if they have the chance! I don't think you'd regret visiting. (◕‿◕)
10:18: You said you liked nature, right? I can show you the countryside here! It's very pretty.
10:20: Oh, and sorry for all the texts. I'll stop spamming you now.
Hana quickly exited out of the conversation before she could spam the poor German anymore. Wasn't it late there now? Hopefully her texts wouldn't wake her up. Why was she so worried all over again? Hana huffed to herself before checking on her other notifications.

[ im sorry this is so short rip ]
Afterttle less than ten minutes of responding to other people's texts and checking through her social media, mostly Twitter and Snow, she finally got up from bed. She held her phone with her right hand and leaned closer to the floor to pick up the articles of clothing she left the night before. Hana gently tossed them into a laundry basket near the wall before heading out of the bedroom. Hana took a quick turn over to her kitchen and stopped when she was at the sink. She placed her phone down on the counter beside it before picking up the cup she left there earlier. She turned on the faucet and cleaned the cup before hanging it back up with the others. Hana wasn't particularly hungry right now, so she left the kitchen instead of stopping to eat anything.
She headed over to the living room right beside the kitchen. She sat down on the couch and was about to lean over to open up her laptop when she felt her phone vibrate in her hands. Instead of responding at first, Hana set her phone down on her lap and opened up the lid to her laptop. She gave the device a few seconds to start before rapidly typing her password into the laptop. On the home screen of her laptop were several icons, although they were all neatly organized at the side of the screen. The wallpaper beneath was what looked to be a slightly younger Hana and four other people - probably her family members. Before she clicked on anything on the screen, Hana looked back down at her phone and read through the texts.
Hana stopped when she came across the voice recording, which was only about half a minute long. Why would she need to send something like that? Curiously, Hana tapped on the play button and pressed against the side of her phone to raise the volume just a little bit. Her dark eyebrows furrowed in confusion when she heard a mixture of giggling and angry German playing through her phone. Yeah. That definitely had to be sent on accident. When the recording began to loop, Hana clicked on the pause button to make it stop before starting to type.
10:35: Oh no! I'm really sorry if I woke you two up!
Chances were, she definitely did. She knew that she already woke up Adelaide, judging by the final text.
10:35: Adelaide is your sister, right? Please tell her I said that.
10:35: I'm just going to go ahead and vanish for a little while then. Just until you're able to wake up at a normal time! It's important that you get your sleep.
Funny she was the one saying that, considering Hana was the one who was constantly awake at concerning hours.
10:35: I'll probably be here whenever you decide to text me. I'll be sure to talk to you then.
10:36: Good night!
Before she could shut off her phone, she received a new notification, this time from one of her friends. The message was written in hiragana. "Hana! Are you still able to come later? Everyone is going to be there! (ノ^∇^)"
Well, now she had something to do to kill some time.
